Kadosh (קָדוֹשׁ) means ‘holy’ in the sense of  being ‘set apart’ as something special or sacred.  Chol (חול) literally means sand, but has the metaphoric meaning of something mundane, the opposite of sacred.

These are core concepts in Judaism and particularly relevant to the concept of a Shabbat day. However, we might ask are we making ‘sacred’ time in our lives for the things that really matter to us, especially our creativity.
